The Summer Camp
This summer program is designed to create a fun and safe environment for children with special needs to explore, learn and have fun. Our programs offer a range of activities that are tailored to meet the unique needs of each child, while promoting sensory exploration, social interaction, academic enrichment and teamwork.
From fun activities that engage children in sensory play, such as water and sand play, to music therapy that promotes emotional expression and communication, we strive to provide a variety of activities that promote physical and emotional well-being. We also incorporate art and craft projects that encourage creativity and fine motor skills, as well as non-fire cooking classes that promote following directions and sensory exploration..
List of few Summer Program Activities
Activities of Daily Life
Cleaning and tidying their spaces, setting the table, feeding themselves, brushing their hair, learning to do buttoning and unbuttoning.
Sensory-friendly activities
Play with kinetic sand/ playdough, water play, sandboxes, and tactile play.
Social
communication
Teach the child about nonverbal cues, such as facial expressions and body language, and help them to develop communication skills such as initiating
Literacy
– Tracing, reading and writing and numeracy
Art and craft projects
Painting, drawing, and making crafts with various textures.
Music therapy
singing, playing instruments, and listening to music.
Group games
Relay race, group puzzle, that promote social interaction and teamwork
Fun cooking
Simple cooking activities that promote fine motor skills, following directions and sensory exploration.
Storytime and reading
read books aloud to the children, and engage them in discussions about the stories and characters.
Water play
Splash and play, water painting, water transfer, sink and float
Movie time
short and simple clippings that have positive messages, and engage them answering “wh” questions
Field trips
Outings to local park and engaging the children in hands-on activities and learning experiences.
